SAWC is looking for a suitably qualified person to manage the college’s qualification programs at Further Education and Higher Education levels. Ideally the candidate should have a M.Sc. in a related subject: Environmental science, wildlife area management, natural resource management, ecology, or similar. The Incumbent will manage the daily activities, develop plans to approach training programs, implement solutions, and perform professional level work in the assigned area. Incumbents are responsible for supervising employees, students, and taking ownership of a portfolio of various programs and management functions necessary for the smooth execution of college qualification programs in adherence with provision and stipulations from various accrediting authorities/ bodies.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in adult education methodology, be familiar with facilitation and assessments, and, preferably have a sound understanding of outcomes based education.
The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills, experience with data collection and analysis, and understand and be comfortable with managing social media and online learning platforms. The ideal candidate must be well organized and able to keep on top of program schedules, student issues and budgets. They must have the confidence to mentor and interact with people from a wide variety of demographic backgrounds and be comfortable presenting to diverse audiences. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with energy and motivation to engage with students, guest lecturers, other college staff, and our many stakeholders, including program donors.
Due to the nature of the role and the area the college is located it would be hugely advantageous if the incumbent was a registered guide with a certificate of competence in weapons handling, or was prepared to attain these.
